Our new show 'Old King Coal' is an unashamedly nostalgic retrospective of life in the North of England in days gone by. The stories and songs are a mixture of well-known and original and all feature the fascinating stories and histories you didn't know (!) that hide behind them.
And, it's not all about coal either - places, events, and characters of the North all rub shoulders with tales of the pit. Join us for a fascinating and fun evening in the company of Old King Coal
Following the proven format of earlier Fool's Gold shows, Old King Coal is a mixture of live acoustic music, featuring the amazing stories and histories that created the songs, all backed by projected images. The songs are both original and very well-known. There's plenty for audiences to identify with and join in with - audience participation is always a big part of our shows! There are funny moments and much more poignant tales too, but there is always something for everyone.

Our previous shows have been very well received and we are often re-booked by venues. All of our shows feature songs, stories, and images (oh, and the fun!)
fees and further information
Our shows are very cost-effective. The standard fee is £200. we sometimes need to negotiate a fuel cost for more distant shows. Other arrangements are possible by discussion.
Our shows are usually 2 x 45 minutes with an interval - the format can be adapted to suit. We are fully self-equipped and require only setup time and power sockets from venues. We have our own projection and sound gear, all PAT certified and we carry full Musicians Union PLI.

Our previous tours for village halls, community venues, and small theatres have been great fun and very successful, if you would like to contact any of our previous venues to ask about us - please do! We can't possibly have bribed them all!
